Where is our amazing winter went to? It's for sure that most of us are missing old good times when the winters were snowy and frosty. That was awesome especially for children who could spend time outside playing snowballs, making snowmen, sliding downhill in many different, sometimes crazy, ways! Due to constant frost, all ponds around were covered by ice and that was another unbelievable space for many winter games. What a feeling was to come back home after the sunset when the whole clothes were cowered by frozen snow and ice. Meanwhile, the warm shiny home greeted us every time and we were the happiest children in the world. That was crazy but so amazing as well.

That was our past. But what do we have now, what the nowadays children can see in winter? The slush and mud all around. Not surprising that most parents prefer to keep their children inside to avoid dirty and wet clothes. And the most dangerous in such changing weather, in my opinion, is the rapid speed of spreading of viruses. The 2020 year showed humanity how dreadful viruses can be. The way of life in most countries during 2020 has changed completely.

It's clear that the climate is changing. There are many reasons for this process. Among them: ozone holes in the atmosphere, global warming, increasing sea surface level because of the melting of ages ices, and, even, recently discovered the constant expansion of fraction of microplastic in the ocean waters. All those reasons have their place, I think. But I'm not going to make scientific research here, since I'm not a scientist, and this is not the place for that.

I just try to understand or predict whether cold and snowy winter comes to our country again. For instance, last winter was so anomaly warm that the river Svislach in Minsk even didn't get an ice surface. And I was going to the office in a light jacket all winter. It's not normal and such unusual!

Since I know the opinion of scientists about the issue, at least the main point, I decided to ask my son about that. Sometimes the thoughts of children sound so interesting and even useful! I asked him why the climate is changing and if humanity can manage this process.

Here is his answer: “People breathing and this way the atmosphere is heating. The viruses and illnesses are spreading because it's warm instead of cold and frost in winter. People have to stay home and keep the quarantine. So the air could become colder and all viruses should die. And the winter will return!”

You know, he pointed the main source of climate change in his answer - humanity. So happened that people influence to all things around. And this is our choice of how this influence will be. 2020 forced all us to pass an exam. The exam not only on how strong is our health, but who we are at all, how we behave with each other, how we trust each other, whether human deserves to live here on the planet. The result of the exam depends on all of us. Our ancestors proved that humanity is strong enough to go through any tough times. The main thing is the planet earth strong enough to endure the human.

So, take care of nature, keep positive, stay healthy, believe in better and the perfect blizzard will return again!
